The Business Registers contain all active legal units, enterprises, and local units, classified according to their economic activities and enterprise size.
The Business Registers are maintained and updated in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 on European Business Statistics (EBS), which establishes the legal framework for the harmonised production of these statistics.
At the end of 2025, the register of legal units comprises:
•    250,097 active legal units, an increase of 5.1% compared with 2024; 
•    112,205 farmers, an increase of 6.1% compared with 2024; 
•    137,892 active enterprises, an increase of 4.3% compared with 2024.
