Harmonised Index of Consumer Price, August 2018

The annual rate measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) in August 2018 is 2.1 %. The most increase of the prices it was noticed in the “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” and “Recreation and culture” groups by 3.4 %, followed by “Clothing and footwear” and “Transport” by 2.3 % each of them, “Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels” by 1.9 %, “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” by 1.3 %, “Hotels, coffee-houses and restaurants” by 1.0 each of them, “Education service” by 0.9 %, “Communication” by 0.7 %, “Furniture household goods and maintenance” by 0.5 %, etc.

In August 2018, the monthly rate measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Price is 0.5 %. This is influenced mostly by increase of prices in “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” group by 0.8 %, followed by “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” and “Recreation and culture” groups by 0.3 % each of them, “Furniture household goods and maintenance” by 0.1 %. Meanwhile, prices of “Clothing and footwear” group decreased by 0.1 %, compared with July 2018. In comparison with previous month, there were no changes in the other groups.
