During the first quarter of 2018, the employment rate for the population aged from 15 to 64 is 59.2 %. In this quarter, in annual terms, employment has an increasing trend: compared to the same quarter of 2017, total employment increased with 4.9 %. Whereas in quarterly terms, compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, total employment increased with 0.8 %.

In the first quarter of 2018, the official unemployment rate in Albania, for the population aged 15 years and over, is 12.5 %. Compared to the first quarter of 2017, the official unemployment rate decreased with 1.7 percentage points. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, the official unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 percentage points.

In the first quarter of 2018, the labour force participation rate for the population aged from 15 to 64 is 68 %. Compared to the first quarter of 2017, the labour force participation rate is 2 percentage points higher. Compared with the previous quarter this indicator increased by 0.5 percentage points.
