The National Institute of Statistics of Albania (INSTAT) has planned to conduct the next Population and Housing Census in 2023. The  Albanian PHC will follow the method of universal direct enumeration based on field operations with compilation of questionnaires by enumerators, using new methods for the collection of data.

The Albanian census will take into account to the largest extent, taking into consideration National circumstances, the latest international recommendations, in particular the recommendations and standards addressed to the European countries from the United Nations (UN) and the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), including those related to data quality and protection of personal data.
