Census 2020 Budget, Donor Funding

The next Census of Population and Housing expected to be realized in 2020 has a cost of € 15.8 million.

The State Budget has undertaken to finance the Population and Housing Cens Project 2020 with 52% of the total.

The European Union has undertaken to support Cens with 31% of the total

Censi 2020 will serve as the basis for the transition from traditional to registry-based methods after 2021. The support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will ensure that the necessary elements for the establishment of statistical registers are incorporated and tested in the field, including Cens Pilot. As part of the CENS 2020 activity plan for 2018, with the support of SDC through the SALSTAT project, it is currently contributing to Cens activities by testing the process of updating geographic information (Cens maps) through the use of new collection methods. of field data as well as identification of common elements with existing administrative registers. SDC will support the Cens project with 4% of the total.

Other donors will support the project with 13% of the total. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has given its contribution to the purchase of servers that will serve the Census of Population and Housing 2020. We are also in talks for the support it can provide during the implementation of this project. The French Embassy will support the preparation of the risk analysis. UNFPA has planned to equip tablets for GiS.
