The meeting of the Committee of Official Statistics Producers was held in the framework of strengthening cooperation and coordination among institutions that are part of the National Statistical System. The discussions were primarily of an informative nature, aiming to brief the Committee members on the preparatory work undertaken by INSTAT regarding the Draft-Programme of Official Statistics 2027–2031. This Programme will define the development strategy of official statistics and the National Statistical System for the upcoming five-year period, as well as set priorities in statistical production. Through this Programme, all producers of official statistics will focus on providing statistical indicators in line with the latest user needs and Eurostat requirements within the context of European integration.
INSTAT also informed the Committee members about the preparations to be undertaken by the institutions for the upcoming “Peer Review 2026” assessment. The Peer Review mission will be carried out by Eurostat in March 2026 and aims to evaluate the functioning of the National Statistical System and the implementation of the principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice, aligned with Law No. 17/2018 “On Official Statistics.”
The meeting also included discussions on strengthening macroeconomic statistics coordination among INSTAT, the Bank of Albania, and the Ministry of Finance, with the objective of improving coherence and harmonization of data in this field, in line with the requirements and provisions of the closing benchmark concerning the timely and quality submission of national accounts tables to Eurostat.
